Theatre Arts Department brings “Suessical” to
Campbell stage

When Horton the Elephant
discovers the people of “Who” are about to engage in a civil war between those
who butter their bread up and those who butter it down, he risks everything to
come to their aid.
Horton is one of a menagerie of delightful Dr. Suess
characters who populate the whimsical Broadway musical “Suessical,” presented by
the Campbell University Theatre Arts Department. Performances of “Suessical” are
set for Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 22, at 3
p.m.; and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 27-29, at 8 p.m., in the Ellis
Theater of the Rogers Fine Arts Center.
“’Suessical’ has something for everyone,” said senior
Gretchen Ross who plays one of the three “Bird Girls,” in the musical. “It
combines the Dr. Suess books to form this great story set to music and narrated
by ‘The Cat in the Hat.’”

sophomore Jeff Enoch is The Cat in the Hat; junior Megan VenDeventer plays
