Art Students Exhibit work in E.P. Sauls Gallery
Campbell University’s E.P.
Sauls Gallery, located in the Rogers Fine Arts Center, is hosting an exhibition
of students enrolled in the Graphic Design program through October 19. The
exhibition will showcase creative posters advertising Campbell’s fall musical “Seussical,”
based on the whimsical characters of the Dr. Suess books. The artwork displayed
is from students in graphic design and typography classes.
According to professor of graphic design, Danny
Rodgers, the exhibition is not only an opportunity for students to show their
work to the public, but part of a larger competition that will lend further
professional exposure. The winning design will be printed by an outside vendor
and displayed throughout the Campbell community.
“Two classes competed in the “Suessical” competition,”
said Rodgers. “Both started with a client creative meeting to launch the
project. For many students, it’s their first exposure to a professional
assignment. It’s great for their preparation in the professional showcase.”
The E.P. Sauls Gallery is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Admission is free and open to the public.
“Seussical,” will run Friday and Saturday, Oct. 21-22,
and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27-29, at 8p.m. in Ellis Theater, of the
Rogers Fine Arts Center. A Saturday matinee for Harnett County students will be
performed on Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. For ticket information, call the Campbell
University Theater Box Office at (910) 893-1509.
