Parrish retires from Campbell Laundry after 23 years
Freshness is the objective
as sheets are pressed, table cloths are ironed and clothes are cleaned at the
Campbell University Laundry. Thanks to the laundry, students are kept in clean
clothes, athletes enjoy stain-free uniforms and prospective students get a fresh
impression of Campbell when they visit the campus. Flossie Parrish, who recently
retired from the laundry after 23 years, is one of the people who helped make
this service a reality.
Parrish has fond memories of her time at Campbell. She
worked for the laundry service from 1982-2005, and witnessed Campbell’s
evolution from small rural campus to major university. “I really enjoyed my time
at Campbell,” Parrish said. “Both the work and the people were really nice.”
Corbett Tart, manager of the laundry, referred to
Parrish as a “super lady.” “She has been a great asset to the laundry service
and to Campbell University,” he said.
Tart affirmed the quality and value of Campbell Laundry
employees. “The laundry service unit at Campbell prides itself on the quality of
its work,” he said.
The Campbell Laundry offers a wide variety of services
and meets the needs of the students, as well as the community at large.
