Elliot Frank performs on Campbell stage
Celebrated by critics and
audiences alike for his unique blend of powerful virtuosity, beautiful tone and
natural musicianship, guitarist Elliot Frank will showcase his talent at
Campbell University on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. in Scott Concert Hall.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Frank’s program includes works from musical giants such
as Bach and Isaac Albeniz. Frank has appeared as a solo recitalist, chamber
player and concerto soloist throughout the Americas and Europe. Among his many
honors, Frank is a prize-winner in two international competitions and has
appeared as a featured soloist with the North Carolina Symphony. He has also
performed for the Memphis, Tampa and Richmond Classical Guitar societies as well
as the Dallas, Tallahassee and Piedmont Guitar societies. Also interested in the
guitar music of Hispanic cultures, Frank has performed and lectured on the music
of Antonio Lauro for the Guitar Foundation of America at international festivals
in Pasadena and New Orleans. Frank’s first CD, “South American Guitar Music,”
was recently released by ACA Digital Recordings and has been praised as
“eloquent” and “delightful.”
Frank currently serves as artistic director at East
Carolina University, where he also teaches while maintaining an active concert
schedule. Upcoming performances include the 2006 Guitar Foundation of America
