Sprint Education Direct Aid Scholarship
Shirley Cava, left, of Clinton, N.C., received a Sprint Education Direct Aid
Scholarship recently. Dean Karen Nery accepted the check from Sprint Public
Affairs manager Robert Whitt, third from left, and engineering manager Wayne
Hall. Cava, who is the mother of four, is a Campbell senior majoring in
secondary education. Her husband Ron Cava is the senior minister at Clinton
First Baptist Church. Requirements of a Sprint School of Education Direct Aid
Scholarship are that the recipient reside in Sprint’s service area and that he
or she pledge to teach in Eastern North Carolina for at least three years after
graduation.
