Switchfoot to perform at Spring Concert

BUIES CREEK - A Grammy Award-winning group will take the Campbell stage for the University Campus Activities Board's annual Spring Concert.

Switchfoot, the 2011 Grammy winner for Best Rock Gospel Album, will perform at the Convocation Center in Buies Creek at 8 p.m. on April 13. Tickets go on pre-sale Feb. 16 and will be available to the public on Feb. 17. Admission is free to undergraduate students at Campbell and $15 for the general public ($20 on the day of the concert).

Formed in 1996, Switchfoot won its Grammy for the 2010 album, "Hello Hurricane." Its most recent release, "Vice Verses" was released last September and debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. According to its website, the band has been involved in several humanitarian causes, including the ONE Campaign, Habitat for Humanity and Invisible Children.

The band performed in Buies Creek in 2007 shortly after the release of its popular album, "Oh! Gravity."

Super excited about this! I saw them in Hickory in October. They were stellar live! This will be my third time seeing them live if I go! My first time was in 07, I believe.
