RALEIGH, N.C.– The Administration of the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law is pleased to announce the hiring of Dexter Smith as its new Assistant Dean of Admissions.
Smith comes to Campbell Law School from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida where he most recently served as Director of Admissions. Prior to his tenure at Florida Coastal, which began in 2006, Smith was Assistant Director of Career Services at the University of Florida Levin College of Law and Director of Legislative Servicesat the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Smith earned his Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He also earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership and a B.A. from the University of Florida. During his years with the University of Florida, Smith was highly engaged in campus activities where he served on numerous boards and advisory committees. He also played varsity football for the Florida Gators and was elected team captain by his teammates.
“We are thrilled to have Dexter Smith join Campbell Law as the leader of our admissions team,” said Dean Melissa Essary. “He is innovative and brings a proven track record in law school admissions to Campbell. He undoubtedly will help us continue to bring the brightest and best to Campbell Law School.”
In his role as Assistant Dean of Admissions, Smith is responsible for all aspects of outreach to prospective students of Campbell Law School, including marketing, outreach, processing applications, communicating with applicants, coordinating relevant special events, and managing student financial aid. Smith will lead a team of three admissions and financial aid professionals.
