Buies Creek, N.C.—Maestro Francesc de Paula Soler, one of the most renowned artists in the world of guitar, will perform in concert at Campbell University Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. in Scott Concert Hall of the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Center. The concert is one of the events included in the Cape Fear Friends of the Fine Arts (CFFFA) Concert Series sponsored by Campbell and the CFFFA. Tickets are $15 at the door for individuals who are not CFFFA members.
Referred to as the ‘poet of the guitar,’ Maestro Soler began to study guitar at a very young age and received highest honors for his talents from the prestigious Conservatorio Superior de Musica in Barcelona, Spain. He continued his post graduate work with the master of the Spanish guitar Andre Segovia and further studied with the famous Narcisco Yepes.
Maestro Soler’s performance will be presented in two parts, first compositions representative of Spain and Latin America featuring the bright, percussive Flamenco style, and second an overview of music for contemporary guitar.
This is the first of many events in the Cape Fear Friends of the Fine Arts Concert Series. For more information on how to become a member, call 910-893-1495.
