Campus-wide Night of Worship was held on Jan. 8, 2009 in Turner Auditorium and brought together all six campus ministry groups for worship before the semester got into full swing.

Praise and worship featured Nathan and Meredith Brunson from Baptist Student Union, Justin Tilghman, Mark Stephenson, Christian Gannon, Tyler Gallaher, Karen-Leigh Allen and Jimmy Adams from Campus Crusade for Christ, and Erik Hawks and Mikaela Dalton from Fellowship of Christian Athletes playing, singing, and leading all of the music together - a first for United Campus Ministries. Student leaders Diane McClary, Christopher Bell, Tyler Ward, Alicia Jones and Heidi Shallow shared stories and experiences from their involvement in campus ministries over the past semester and invited their peers to become more involved in campus ministry at Campbell.

Alicia Jones from Encounter, the newest ministry group focusing on ministry to international students, brought SunLie Miller and Flora Xu to share their experiences from the international beach retreat held last semester. Both of them shared that their participation in that retreat brought them closer to God and each other through Bible study and fellowship over the course of the weekend. Faithe Beam, Campus Minister, also shared some thoughts and scripture with the students and encouraged them to grow in their faith through discipleship and to use their resources to help reach out to other students and people in the Harnett County community who face great needs.

Overall, the evening's worship was meaningful and students were invited to join the work of the Spirit already taking place on our campus and in our community through involvement with campus ministry. The six ministry groups provide opportunities each week for students to worship, study, fellowship and reach out to the local community and encourage students to use their gifts and plug in to existing ministries and outreach or to create new opportunities for those ministry groups.
