Choy Siew Chee was one of the first students to receive a Bachelor of Science degree through a partnership between Campbell University and Tunku Abdul Rahman College in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Today, the two-time Campbell alumna heads TAR College’s Perak campus.

This Christmas season you’ll surely hear the name St. Nicholas. In fact, he has a day all to himself. Dec. 6 is St. Nicholas Day, when children in many parts of the world will wake up to find small treats in their shoes or stockings, left to them, they’ll be told, by St. Nicholas. And in the U.S., on Dec. 25, of course, many children will wake up to find gifts left for them, they’ll be told, by Santa Claus, a derivative of St. Nicholas.

Former Carolina Panthers standout and Nebraska Football Hall of Famer Mike Minter has been named head football coach at Campbell University. Minter, a member of two national championship teams at Nebraska and the Panthers’ 2003 Super Bowl squad, joins the Fighting Camel program after serving as assistant coach at Liberty University in 2012 and Johnson C. Smith University in 2011.

He won the American League Cy Young Award in 1970 as baseball’s best pitcher. Five years earlier, he pitched in a few World Series games … going head-to-head with the legendary Sandy Koufax in one. He was a three-time Major League Baseball All Star selection, a 1974 inductee into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, a 1984 inductee of Campbell University’s Sports Hall of Fame and a 2011 pick for the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame.
