Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs; Professor of Family Medicine; Health Policy Fellow
Brian A. Kessler, DO, FACOFP is the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs. He is a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He is the former Chief Academic Officer at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital. Dr. Kessler is a board certified family physician who has a vast appreciation of primary care medicine, health policy, and appreciates the vital role primary care physicians have in training the next generation of osteopathic physicians. Dr. Kessler is an AOA Health Policy Fellow and a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He is on the Board of Governors for the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association, the North Carolina Society of ACOFP, the Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators, and is Chair of AOA Council on Postdoctoral Training. He is a current executive board member of the North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association and holds licenses to practice medicine in North Carolina, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
As Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs at Campbell University, Dr. Kessler oversees the Office of Clinical Affairs and clinical education for students. He is an integral part in the development of new osteopathic training programs, research, and community outreach. Dr. Kessler is blessed with a wonderful family. He is married to his lovely wife, Ioanna, also an accomplished osteopathic family physician and has two children, Katie and Ethan. The family is excited to be a part of the Campbell University family.
