The purpose of this rotation is to introduce the student to clinical pharmacy practice in the inpatient setting through clinically oriented, patient-specific and non-patient specific activities.
Activities involving direct patient interaction, physician consultation, and interdisciplinary working relationships form a major component of the internal medicine rotation. Most often, these experiences are gained by "rounding" with physicians or similar activities in the patient care area.
Student experiences should span both patient-specific and non-patient-specific activities.
