Biology 111 Learning Resources
Please note: None of the following
materials are essential for you to succeed in this course. These resources are
provided to help you, but not to substitute for focused effort and study on your part.
Because these resources are not essential, I consider them low priority in my
workload (i.e. I post and update material if & when I have time!)
(please note that all documents with a
icon next to it are Adobe acrobat
.pdf files, which require your computer to have installed the free Adobe Acrobat Reader)
Some resources are password protected. Use the course username and password to
access these resources (if you have problems accessing password protected
resources, please refer to the FAQ page for
troubleshooting)
2Study guides are designed to highlight
the most important material and are not necessarily comprehensive. Basically,
everything covered in lecture and in your text is testable material.
3Powerpoint presentations are
provided as both Microsoft Office Powerpoint files (designated with the
icon) and as Adobe Acrobat files (designated with the
icon).
Powerpoint file lectures can either be
viewed in your browser by left clicking the link, or you can download the presentation by
right clicking the link, to view, navigate through, and print slides using Microsoft Powerpoint software, or the
free Powerpoint viewer
software. PLEASE NOTE: The slides in these
presentations are those intended to be shown in class, however, due to time constraints in
lecture, there are most likely some slides posted on this resource page, which will not be shown in class.
4Sample exams may contain questions on
material that we are not covering this semester. They are provided to show you
examples of the types of questions you will encounter on your exams. Answers are
deliberately not provided.
