Research Interests

My research interests are in the area of cell differentiation and cell-specific gene expression.  I am also interested in bioinformatics and the application of computer modeling to biological systems.  I am very interested in working with undergraduates to do research.  Students gain valuable experience by doing a research project.  Research provides an opportunity for students to master techniques, enhance their problem-solving skills, better understand the interconnectedness of their coursework and biology as a whole, and develop a set of skills that will interest future employers.
