Degree in the Spotlight: Bachelor of Homeland Security
Terrorism is now the single most critical national and international security threat and issue.
Our Bachelor of Homeland Security was established in response to the nation's growing homeland security needs and issues. Campbell University is the first and only university in North Carolina to offer a 4-year degree in homeland security. Campbell University Fort Bragg/Pope is striving to help prepare CU students to meet the nation's need. Our courses relate directly to the Critical Mission Areas identified in The National Strategy for Homeland Security. This degree is designed to enable students to be able to respond to natural and man-made disasters, provide counterterrorism and intelligence support and employ the latest security technology.
Students will gain valuable skills and knowledge in the following areas:

- Governmental Policies
- Operational aspects of Homeland Security
- National Security
- Intelligence Operations
Campbell University Fort Bragg/Pope students will understand the processes of the criminal justice system, learn vocabulary associated with homeland security, become familiar with domestic and international terrorist organizations, recognize strategies for disaster prevention, and examine areas of the world in which international terrorist organizations are formed.
Graduates of our Bachelor of Homeland Security will be prepared to work in a variety of settings such as local and national law enforcement, federal agencies such as the CIA, Department of Homeland Security, Secret Service, and the DEA, and many private security agencies. U.S.. News reported a salary range from $37,000 to $75,500 for homeland security professionals.
