IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR STUDENTS USING ARMY TA AND REGISTERING VIA GOARMYED! 

TA must be requested and approved prior to the start date of the class.  There is no longer an add/late registration period.  The policy is effective 9/5/2014.  These changes will NOT affect Fall I registration.

There are four (4) significant changes below which will be effective 5 September 2014 in the GoArmyEd portal:

I. Grades: Grades below a C for undergraduate work, grades below a B for graduate work and “Fail” for “Pass/Fail” grades will be recouped for classes with a start date of 5 September 2014 or after.
➢ The language in the (Department of Defense Instruction) DoDI does not address “+” or “-“ grades; GoArmyEd will not collect on undergraduate C- grades or graduate B- grades.

II. Fees: No fees to include any supporting instructional fees will be paid using TA; only the actual cost of tuition up to $250/ semester hour will be funded.
• Any fees associated with the course should be listed as Soldier Funded Fees.
• If you anticipate a change in your tuition, you should not enter classes into the portal until the new rates have been finalized. Once you have submitted classes, there are only two ways to increase any costs, both unpleasant, and both can be done only if there are no enrollments.
➢ The first is to manually change the class cost of each class using the Data Collection Tool.
➢ The second is to cancel all of the classes you had submitted and then submit a new list of classes, but with completely different section numbers.
• There is no automated process for changing class costs once a class has been submitted.

III. Installation access: A school seeking access to the installation solely to provide academic counseling or student support service must have a DoD student population of at least 20 military students. Overseas locations are an exception.

IV. Registration: TA must be submitted and approved before the start date of the class. Seven calendar days after the course start date has been eliminated.
