Birth - Kindergarten (b-K)
Overview
CampbellUniversityoffers a B.S. in Family Studies, with birth-kindergarten licensure, as well as a Lateral Entry Licensure only in birth-kindergarten, and a pre-school add-on licensure. The Family Studies Degree with birth-kindergarten teacher licensure at Campbell University is designed to prepare candidates to serve young children and families, with and without special needs, in a variety of settings. Students successfully completing the program earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies, and an initial or A-level licensure to teach in birth-kindergarten settings for children with and without special needs.
Teacher candidates in birth-kindergarten education are required to complete 24 semester hours in the professional education core and 46 hours in the area of family studies. Additionally, candidates complete 64 semester hours in general studies. A checklist is kept in each candidate’s file to enable advisors to monitor progress through the program.
