The New Masters of Education Online
Graduate students attending Campbell University have been earning their graduate degrees through the traditional face to face programs at Campbell University since 1977. We are proud to announce that Campbell University received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to begin specific graduate online programs through the School of Education. We will begin offering our online Master's Programs in fall 2013 semester in Elementary Education and in spring 2014 in elementary education, middle grades (language arts, math, social studies), secondary (English, math, social studies) and K-12 (Physical Education).
Students can expect a rich graduate student experience that balances both synchronous and asynchronous learning platforms. Campbell University uses a variety of technologies in all online offerings such as:
- Blackboard education technology platform with the Collaborate platform. This allows each professor the option of including classroom sessions online thus providing a face to face option to create a feeling of connectedness between faculty and candidates.
- The newly implemented Tegrity Lecture Capture system allows professors the option of producing lectures that students can access 24/7.
Our challenge was to:
- create a learning experience that met the modern day needs of busy teachers who often serve as coaches and club advisors
- and ensure ample opportunity to provide the extra attention graduate students attending School of Education programs through Campbell University have grown to expect.
The blending of Blackboard options (Blackboard Learn, Blackboard Collaborate, Blackboard Connect, and Blackboard Mobile) with other technologies (such as the Tegrity Lecture Capture system) provides candidates with a program of study where rich opportunities to connect with colleagues across major geographic barriers are possible.
