Family Studies:  Emphasis in Family or Child Development

In the areas of Family and Child Development the emphasis is on life-span development.  Our belief that education for life begins at conception and continues through late adulthood is exemplified in the courses we offer.  The classes in Family and Child Development stress the importance of family and the solid foundation of traditional values it represents.  Courses address such topics as:  Infants, toddlers, preschool children, child development, and administration of child development programs.  In addition, courses related to family address topics such as family development, interpersonal development, personal relationships, life span development, and family issues.
Career opportunities exist for professionals who understand individual growth and development, interactions within families, and interactions of individuals and families with their surroundings.
