The Certificate in Preschool and Children’s Ministry is offered to
students pursuing the
Master of
Divinity or
Master of Arts
in Christian Education degree programs, and it is offered as
a special program for students not seeking a degree. The certificate is
designed to better equip staff ministers and laypersons in the faith
development of preschoolers and children. It requires 12 credit hours
of course work, or 6 courses.

DIV 6301 Teaching Preschoolers and Children (2 hours)
DIV 6320 Biblical and Theological Foundations for Age Group
Ministry (2 hours)
DIV 6020 The Christian Educator (2 hours)
DIV 6100 Designing Church Programs and Ministries (2 hours)
DIV 6370 Age Group Practicum (2 hours)
Students will choose at least an additional praxis
course from the following offerings:
DIV 6349 The Child, Family, and Congregation (2 hours)
DIV 6359 Special Topics in Age Group Ministry (2 hours)
DIV 6350 Age Group Field Study (2 hours)
