Students from the pharmacy, physician assistant and public health departments at Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences held a health education fair in conjunction with the migrant farm workers clinic at Benson Area Medical Center on Thursday evening, October 3. This fair is part of a series of student-led community healthcare awareness events that focus on prevention and wellness.
Dual degree program gives PA students an insight into public health

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at Campbell University recently launched a dual degree program that provides physician assistant students with an extensive background in public health. The Master of Physician Assistant Practice and Master of Science in Public Health dual degree allows physician assistant students to complete the requirements for a degree in public health before entering the PA curriculum.

Fifty students from 27 different colleges and 13 states across the country are spending the week at Campbell University in pursuit of improving their college applications for graduate and doctorate health programs.
The annual Healthcare Professionals Readiness & Enrichment Program (PREP), hosted by the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and School of Osteopathic Medicine, teaches participants about resume writing, interviewing, time management, test taking and professional development skills.
Q&A - Gerald Montero, 2014 public health student

Serving others in active duty and civilian life - After serving in the Army as a medic for nearly seven years, Gerald Montero wanted to continue working in health care as he transitioned to civilian life last summer. At first he considered a nursing degree until he heard about the new public health program at Campbell University's College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.

Public Health, PA host free dental and medical clinic for Harnett County children

Nearly 100 underserved children from Harnett County received free dental and medical care on Saturday, Feb. 2, at a clinic organized by Campbell University’s Public Health and Physician Assistant programs.
The one-day event set up twelve dental chairs in the Harnett County Commons Area in Lillington, N.C., providing free exams, cleanings, sealants, and fluoride treatments for children who do not have dental insurance or receive Medicaid funding.
