Campbell’s PREP program prepares students to apply for advanced health degrees

Fifty students from 27 different colleges and 13 states across the country are spending the week at Campbell University in pursuit of improving their college applications for graduate and doctorate health programs.
The annual Healthcare Professionals Readiness & Enrichment Program (PREP), hosted by the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and School of Osteopathic Medicine, teaches participants about resume writing, interviewing, time management, test taking and professional development skills.
Faculty members author comprehensive book on drug development

When searching for teaching resources, Campbell University faculty members Antoine Al-Achi, Mali Gupta, and William Stagner saw a reoccurring need for a book that provided a comprehensive approach to the pharmaceutical industry. The three started discussing this issue, and before long, a new book project was underway.
College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences honors scholarship donors at annual luncheon

Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences hosted its annual scholarship luncheon on Sat., Feb. 9, giving students the opportunity to thank the donors who help fund their education.
Donors provided over $240,000 in scholarships this year, giving financial assistance to more than 115 post-graduate students in the College’s pharmacy, physician assistant practice, pharmaceutical sciences and clinical research programs.
Faculty members awarded grant for cutting-edge research equipment

Daniel Shin, PhD, professor of pharmaceutical sciences, and Sarah Lui, PhD, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, were recently awarded a $58,880 grant from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
Funds from the grant will purchase an ultra-high performance liquid chromatograph (UHPLC) instrument, used to identify and quantify individual components in complex material. Installing the equipment on-campus will give students access to advanced technology that is currently used in the pharmaceutical industry.
