Pharmacy students complete clinical rotation in Africa

Fourth-year pharmacy students Erin Dickert and Melissa Smisor completed their final clinical rotation in Cameroon, Africa this past April at Mbingo Baptist Hospital. Mbingo is a 270-bed facility nestled in the mountains of northern Cameroon offering some of the most specialized care and advanced surgical services in the developing country.
PA student receives competitive veterans scholarship

Thomas Notto, first-year physician assistant student at Campbell University, received the SSgt. Craig Ivory Memorial Scholarship awarded through the Veterans Caucus, a subgroup of the American Academy of Physician Assistants representing PAs who are veterans of the United States Uniformed Services.

Fifty students from 27 different colleges and 13 states across the country are spending the week at Campbell University in pursuit of improving their college applications for graduate and doctorate health programs.
The annual Healthcare Professionals Readiness & Enrichment Program (PREP), hosted by the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences and School of Osteopathic Medicine, teaches participants about resume writing, interviewing, time management, test taking and professional development skills.
Class gift creates scholarship in honor of former chair

Campbell University’s doctor of pharmacy class of 2013 pledged over $25,000 to create an endowed scholarship in honor of Dr. Larry Swanson, who retired from the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences this past fall after serving more than 20 years as chair of pharmacy practice.
Vice President of Novant Health delivers graduation address

Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences held its 24th graduation ceremony today at the John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center. Dr. Michael Nnadi, corporate vice president and chief pharmacy officer at Novant Health, delivered the commencement address.
“Now that your dream has turned out to be a reality, your new challenge is to love pharmacy and get good at it. And as Steve Jobs said, ‘Stay hungry.’ And I say to you stay hungry in pharmacy,” Nnadi said.
