Dr. Hinson has been a full time faculty member in the Department of Clinical Research since November 2011. Currently he teaches courses in New Product Development, Medical Research Ethics, and Research in Special populations. In addition to didactic teaching, he along with other full time faculty within the department, mentor and advise students during their senior year clinical research projects. The objective of each research project is to contribute to generalizable knowledge through publication in peer reviewed journals.
Having attained the AE-C certification (asthma educator certified), Dr. Hinson’s area of therapeutic interest includes asthma and COPD education management strategies. This skill is utilized by serving as a pharmacist at Campbell University Health System pharmacy, which allows him the opportunity to meet with patients to stay abreast of educational and research needs.
Prior to joining Campbell, Dr. Hinson worked for 18 years within the pharmaceutical industry, with experience in Medical Information, Clinical Research, Marketing and Sales. Additionally, he has been a licensed pharmacist for 30 years, with experience in community pharmacy, both as a pharmacist manager and staff pharmacist along with hospital staffing experience.
