Teaching New Teachers Certificate Program
The Teaching New Teachers (TNT) certificate program was designed to expose CPHS residents to teaching, and to help them develop and improve their skills in this area.
The program prepares PGY1 residents to teach in the OTC course at CPHS to second-year PharmD students during the spring semester. PGY2 residents teach in therapeutics and various electives for third-year PharmD students. Both PGY1 and PGY2 residents co-precept fourth-year PharmD students during the advanced pharmacy practice experiences.
The type and quantity of teaching varies with each residency, but all Campbell residency programs provide the amount teaching experience needed to complete the TNT program.
The certificate program consists of nine sessions. Each session includes activities that prepare the resident to teach in class. For example, residents write their learning objectives in the Curriculum Design and Course Planning sessions, develop cases in the Teaching in Class session, and write multiple choice test questions in the Assessing Students session.
