Landscaping

Beads dangle on spears after an April shower,

Charging fresh cut smell of scorched gasoline.

Wet grass glazes over inside of red lawn mower.

The blade is stuck thick as fingerprints painted green

Scrape off clumps of envy , and jealousy

Rub off layer by layer like garden snakeskin.

Don't ever mow the lawn barefoot

Because heels dipped in green stain for weeks,

And you might sever a toe, then have to clean

The insides of the red lawn mower.
