Originally from Kingsport, Tennessee, Dr. Davy
received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from East Tennessee
State University. He earned his
Ph.D. Dr. Cordelia M. Hanemann serves as an Assistant Professor in the English Department. Since beginning full time teaching at Campbell in 1993, she has taught English 303 (Modern Grammar), English 419 (American Women's Poetry), and English 453 (Methods in Teaching English). Her major academic interests are Contemporary American Literature, Women's Poetry, and African American Studies. Ms.
Hanemann received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from the
University of Southwestern Louisiana.
She received her Ph.D. Ms. Hanemann originally comes from Lafayette, Louisiana. Dr. Kenneth R. Morefield serves as Assistant Professor of English. Since arriving in 2004, he has taught survey courses in English and American literature, Freshman Composition, and Literature and Film. His major academic interests are the history and practice of literary theory and the depiction of religious faith in art and popular culture.
He received his Ph.D. Dr. Gina Peterman serves as Associate Professor in the English Department. Since arriving in 1992, she has taught English 407 (Nineteen-Century American Literature), English 408 (Twentieth-Century Literature), English 415 (History of the American Novel), English 416 (Modern/Contemporary Fiction), English 417 (Modern/Contemporary Poetry), English 418 (Southern American Literature), and Seminars on William Faulkner and on Women's Literature. Her major academic interests are American Modernism, Southern Literature, and Literature of World War I. Dr.
Peterman, originally from Harriman, Tennessee, received her Bachelor of Arts
and Master of Arts degrees from Tennessee Tech University.
She received her Ph.D. Dr. Elizabeth Rambo serves as Associate Professor in the English Department. Since returning to her home state in 1999 after teaching nine years at Biola University in Los Angeles, she has taught English 401 (Medieval Literature), English 409 (Chaucer), English 416 (Contemporary Fiction), and English 419 (Arthurian Legends Seminar). Her major academic interests are Medieval Literature, Chaucer, Celtic Studies, Arthurian Legends, and the works of William Langland. Dr.
Rambo received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Andrews Presbyterian
College and her Master of Arts degree from the University of
Missouri-Columbia. She received
her Ph.D. Mr. Jon Nathan Salsbury serves as an Instructor/Lecturer in the English Department. Since arriving in 2000, he has taught English 101 (English Freshman Composition I) and English 102 (English Freshman Composition II). His major academic interests are American Literature and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Originally
from Highlands, North Carolina, Mr. Salsbury received his Bachelor of Arts
degree from Western Carolina University and his Master of Arts degree from
North Carolina State University. Dr. Frank Vaughan serves as the Chair for the English Department. Since arriving in 1980, he has taught English 301 (Creative Writing), English 403 (Renaissance Literature), English 404 (Eighteenth Century Literature), English 405 (Romantic Literature), English 406 (Victorian Literature), English 410 (Shakespeare), English 411 (Milton), English 413 (English Drama), English 414 (History of British Novels), English 422 (History of Criticism), and English 498 (Honors English). In addition, he has taught various seminars and conducted numerous Independent Studies. Along with his teaching duties, Dr. Vaughan serves as faculty adviser of The Lyricist, the student edited literary magazine. His major academic interests are the Romantic Period, especially the poet/artist William Blake. Originally
from Albany, California, Dr. Vaughan received his Bachelor of Arts and
Master of Arts degrees from California State University at Haywood.
He received his Ph.D. Dr. Donna Waldron, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, serves as Assistant Professor in the English Department. Since arriving in 2000, she has taught Freshman Composition and sophomore British literature surveys, as well as History of the British Novel. Her major academic interests are British Eighteenth-Century Literature and Drama (1660-1800), and the Novel. Dr.
Waldron received her Bachelor of Science degree as well as her Master of Arts
Degree from Baylor University. She
earned her Ph.D. Kim Ward Ms. Ward received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from North Carolina State University Shirley Jefferds is serving as Visiting Instructor of English. She has taught as an adjunct since 2000, teaching Freshman Composition 101, English 102 and Remedial English 100. She has taught in Arkansas and Louisiana before coming to North Carolina; her major academic interests are Early American Literature, Writing and Grammar. Originally from Batesville, Arkansas, she received her Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Masters of Science in Education from Arkansas State University. Her Masters in Religious Education was earned at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. . |
