 s. We will start with how drugs produce effects on cells\, and the basic i
 dea of how your brain works. &nbsp\;That will lead to examples of how thes
 e cell effects can cause problems with the way the brain works. For exampl
 e\, when some uses marijuana\, the active substance slows neuron activity 
 in areas of the brain associated with memory and perception. The workshop 
 will also include information from clinicians about long-term problems ass
 ociated with the use of common drugs of abuse\, and what kind of warning s
 igns teachers can look for that might indicate a student is using drugs.
