The School of Education will be hosting their annual Convocation and Commissioning Ceremony. The Commissioning Ceremony is to honor our seniors as they go into their perspective professions.
This is a formal event and all seniors in all departments will be wearing academic regalia and enter by procession.This event will allow each candidate for graduation to be honored during the ceremony.
There will be a rehearsal in Turner Auditorium for the Commissioning Ceremony on Thursday, February 7th, 2:50pm-3:30pm. This rehearsal will be held at the end of Student Teaching Seminar Class. The rehearsal will provide you with information concerning the event.
This is a required university experience. All School of Education majors (Psychology, Social Work, and undergraduate Education majors who are planning to teach at the BK, elementary, and secondary levels) are expected to attend. You will need to purchase your robe at the bookstore by the end of January. The cost of your robe is $65.98 which includes your tassel and cap that you will be wearing for the May Graduation. You may also wear your honor cords at this event.
This year, the School of Education will be hosting a reception for all our SOE Seniors. The reception will take place immediately following the Convocation and Commissioning Ceremony at Rumley Center, located in Powell Dorm. You and your guests are invited to attend this event.
