The Campbell University Social Work Club is hosting a Hunger Banquet on Monday, Nov 5 at 6 pm. We invite the campus and community to “come see hunger in a whole new way”. This is an excellent program for old and young alike. Essentially, folks arrive and draw a ticket for their “lot in life”. Some eat a well-balanced, catered meal such is available to the richest 15% of the world’s population. The middle 35% eat a modest meal. The rest of the patrons have a subsistence meal. There is a short program during the meal that discusses world hunger, and Rev. Steve Hickle of Stop Hunger Now will follow with an overview of their mission and accomplishments.
Admission is $3 (to benefit Stop Hunger Now) or three cans of food (to benefit the Harnett Food Pantry). Reservations are required, as we must order the food in advance. Please contact me if you need further information. Dr. Susie Mallard Barnes ext. 1642, or email: [email protected]
