“Fiduciary Practices”
This is a program that covers the basics of Fiduciary Law. It is meant for new Trust Officer, Trust Support Specialist, Specialized Trust Personnel, Attorneys, CPA’s and Financial Planners. At the end of the day, you will have an overall understanding of the basics of the fiduciary business. The program is divided into 4 sections:
Background of Fiduciary Law
This section lasts 30 minutes and goes over Fiduciary Responsibility, how trusts came to be created and what the business has become today. It discusses documents, and how to accept an account. CFP-Fiduciary Responsibility CTFA-Fiduciary and Trust Activities
Definition of the Fiduciary Relationship
This section lasts 3 hours and discusses the types of accounts in the fiduciary area as well as their taxability. It covers the nature and characteristics of account relationships including estates, trusts under will, revocable trusts, guardianships, charitable accounts, agencies and IRA’s. Activities Creating Fiduciary Liability
