Free Enterprise Education Philosophy of Business (BA 300) This course forms the foundation of Campbell University's undergraduate program in free enterprise education. The goal is to ensure that all Campbell students in business and economics have a firm grounding in and appreciation for the free enterprise system. An overarching purpose of this course is to provide the student with an ethical foundation for capitalism and business activity. Special emphasis is placed on the morality of profit seeking and the role of exchange activities in generating a civil and peaceful social order. BA300 is required for all students receiving bachelor degrees in business, economics, and political economy. World of Business (BADM 560) This course is the philosophical foundation for the MBA curriculum in the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business at Campbell University. The Lundy-Fetterman School of Business was founded on the principles of Free Enterprise. This course provides that education at the graduate level. This course will provide the mental framework that businessmen and businesswomen need in today’s business and political environment. Unlike your other courses, this class will not teach you the mechanics of being a participant in business; this course will teach you the framework that makes private business possible. We will discuss what institutions are necessary to make private enterprise possible. We will also discuss how these institutions provide incentives for individual responsibility, self-regulation, and entrepreneurship. We will also discuss the environment that these institutions currently exist and how they may be threatened. |
