Friday, Wharton stood before an auditorium full of Lundy-Fetterman School of Business administrators, faculty, staff and students to accept the school’s annual Distinguished Alumni Award. The award culminated the school’s annual Alumni Convocation, held at Scott Concert Hall in the Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Center.  Read more »

Gene Lewis

Gene Lewis, a 1994 graduate of Campbell University, was presented with the Young Alumni Award during the presentation.Lewis has served in various roles in institutional trust administration and sales for First Citizens Bank since graduation. “BB&T trust management banker Kim Johnson (’75/’80) was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the school’s opening convocation service. Johnson, of Wilson, N.C., is the Administrative and Fiduciary Manager for BB&T’s Wealth Division. He graduated from Campbell University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration from Campbell in 1980.“ Read more »

James R. Vann

“Attorney James R. Vann was named the 2010 Distinguished Young Alumnus of Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business at the school’s opening convocation service on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Vann, of Raleigh, N.C., received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Trust Management from Campbell in 1986 and a law degree from Samford University in 1990. He opened his own law firm in 1993, adding a partner to become Vann & Sheridan, LLP in 1998.“

Dennis I. Bellefeuille

“Dennis I. Bellefeuille received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Trust Management from Campbell in 1968 and completed his MBA in 1972. He began his career as an assistant trust officer with South Carolina National Bank and served as senior vice president and senior trust officer with Peoples Bank & Trust Co. from 1976-1994. He currently serves the financial services industry and the state of North Carolina as Senior Trust Examiner in the Office of the Commissioner of Banks.”

Oscar Harris

“Harris, who is serving his third term as mayor of Dunn, was elected to the North Carolina Senate twice. He has served on the state Board of Transportation, the state Economic Development Board and the state Banking Commission. After graduating from Campbell in 1965, he formed his own accounting firm, Oscar Harris & Associates, PA, in 1979 and was the first Campbell graduate to receive his license as a Certified Public Accountant.”

Ryan A. Newkirk

“Ryan A. Newkirk, who received the 2008 Young Distinguished Alumnus Award, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration with a major in Trust and Investment Management in 2001, graduating with a 4.0 grade point average. He was named the Outstanding Trust Student of the Year. Newkirk began his career with BB&T in Winston-Salem, rising to the rank of Regional Portfolio Manager. He was promoted to the position of vice president and Wealth Management Advisor in 2003. In 2008, Newkirk left BB&T to join the Bank of America, US Trust, in Greensboro and Winston-Salem. He currently serves as the primary point of contact for high wealth clients in the areas of trust and investment management, insurance and personal banking needs. He also serves as chairman of the Campbell University Trust Education Foundation.”

“A 1974 graduate of Campbell University with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Trust Management, Infinger earned his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1981. Prior to joining Mazursky Constantine, he was Chief Counsel for Benefits and Executive Compensation at BellSouth Corporation, where he advised the company's senior executive team and board of directors in respect to human resources matters. Infinger also served as an attorney with law firms in Dallas, Texas and Atlanta, Ga. before joining BellSouth.”

Lloyd Stuart Surles

“Lloyd Stuart Surles, of Angier, N.C., was named a Distinguished Alumnus of Campbell University at the 2009 Homecoming celebration on Saturday, Oct. 24. Surles is the owner of Stuart Surles Insurance, Inc. in Angier.Surles graduated from Campbell in 1977, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration… An active member of his community, Surles has served on the Harnett County Social Services Board of Directors and is the charter president of the Angier Rotary Club. In 1998 he was presented the Platinum Sales Award by the Rural Community Insurance Services organization. Surles also received the Outstanding Service Award from the National Crop Insurance Service for 2001.”

Russ is the owner and CEO of the regionally recognized Russ Vending and Coffee Company. A life long entrepreneur, Russ’ business successes also include being a restaurateur and operating a nationally known medical supply business. As the immediate past president of Campbell’s National Alumni Association, a member of the John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center and Barker-Lane Football Stadium capital campaign cabinets, Russ has helped change the landscape of Campbell University.“

“Stephen Wayne Gaskins has been named a Distinguished Alumnus of Campbell University at the university’s Homecoming festivities held Saturday, Nov. 1. Gaskins is Chief Investment Officer at Old North State Trust, LLC.A past president of Campbell’s National Alumni Association, Gaskins is a 1981 graduate of the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business. He and his brother Gene are second generation Campbell alumni, while father Eugene was a distinguished university Reavis Scholar.”
