Josh Cheney (BA in Music Education, 2009) is going to graduate school (Master of Music) at the University of Tennessee.
Kayl Whitaker (BA in Church Music, 2009) is going to graduate school (Master of Divinity) at Southeastern Baptist theological Seminary.
David John Hailey (BA in Church Music, 2009) is going to graduate school (Master of Divinity) at Duke University.
Megan Truelove (BA in Music Education, 2009) is going to graduate school (Master of Divinity) at Campbell University Divinity School.
Karoline Will Strickland, class of 2007, is a successful studio piano teacher in Durham, working in a music school with Kerry Henry, a piano teacher well known in eastern North Carolina. Karoline is also an officer in the North Carolina Music Teachers’ Association.
Becky Jorgenson, 2004, a successful independent piano and voice teacher in Cary, NC. She has a full studio, and her students have won awards in piano competitions. She has used her college training in music to help shift to the study of Counseling: she has earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and has been offered a full scholarship in the PhD program at Liberty University.
Brad Gardner, a 2009 graduate, was an instrumental music education major at CU. He was pianist and percussionist who was a part of Wind Ensemble, Athletic Bands, Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble. Recently, he has be working for the North Carolina Theater as an assistant music director and rehearsal pianist. In November, he will move to New York to begin his career as a rehearsal pianist off Broadway.
Melody Causby, a 2007 graduate, was an instrumental music education major at CU. She was a part of the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble, and Athletic Bands serving as Student Conductor of the Basketball Band. She completed her Master of Music Education Degree at UNCG in 2009 and started her career as a Middle School Band Director in Wilson, NC. Currently, Melody is the Director of Bands at Bunn High School.
Aaron Carter, a 2006 graduate, was an instrumental music composition major at CU. He was a part of the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Athletic Bands serving as Student Conductor of the Basketball Band. He completed his Master of Degree at the University of Georgia in 2008 and is currently completing his Doctoral Degree in Theory and Composition.
Jon Button, a 2005 graduate, was an instrumental music education major at CU. He was a part of the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony Percussion Ensemble, and Athletic Bands. He started his career as the Director of Bands at Central Cabarrus High School and currently is the Director of Bands at one of the largest and most successful high school band programs in Kentucky.
Aaron Jackson, proud Campbell music alumnus former conducting student of Phillip Morrow, has accepted a teaching appointment at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Following his May 2006 graduation from Campbell, Mr. Jackson pursued a Masters degree in church music from SEBTS, completing it 2008. While at CU, he served as student conductor for the University Choir.
