Requirements

 Incoming students are invited into the program the summer before their freshmen year at Campbell. Requirements include:

    Un-weighted high school GPA of 3.5 or higher
    SAT of 1650 or higher
    A love for learning

Program

Foundational Level (Freshman Year)

  • Honors 101-Interdisciplinary Seminar (2 hrs)
  • Honors 102-Service Learning (2 hrs)

Interdisciplinary Level (Sophomore & Junior Years)

  • Honors 250 (3hrs) -Honors 251 (3 hrs)
  • Honors 350 (3 hrs) -Honors 351 (3 hrs)

Capstone Level (Senior Year

  • Honors 401 (1-3 hrs)
  • Honors 402 (1-3 hrs)

Total: 18 hours

Interdisciplinary courses in the past have included:

  • Film and World View
  • The Vietnam War
  • The Fairy Tale in the French and German Traditions
  • Faith and Popular Culture
  • Love and Death in German Literature
  • Ethics and the Genome Project
  • Culture of Costa Rica (Study Abroad Honors course)
  • Latin American Writers in Translation

Internships

Service opportunities are available in a wide range of areas such as Health Care, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Coats Senior Citizens Center, and Hispanic Ministries Theological School. Any business or professional position that is amenable to job shadowing would be included among the service opportunities.
