Lyricist
The Lyricistis a student publication that includes prose, poetry, and artwork submitted mainly by Campbell students and North Carolina residents. Students can sign up for 1-3 credit hours per semester in English 412 for a total of six credits toward graduation. Though English 412 is set up as a semester long course, it is presumed enrolled students will be on the staff for the entire academic year. The course goals of The Lyricist include students learning the processes of producing a high quality creative writing journal. Through workshops provided by Campbell’s faculty and invited guests, students learn about marketing; desktop publishing; and critiquing prose, poetry and art. Other duties include the administrative, financial/budgeting, interpersonal, logistical, and creative aspects involved in creating a literary journal.
