Roger Jason Barbour, Graphic Design
Jason worked at Turner Printing Services, Inc., a print shop located in Downtown Raleigh. He learned to operate color print presses and had the opportunity to design pieces for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce.
Rich Apolinar, Graphic Design
Rich completed a summer internship with Getinge USA, Inc., a world-wide company located in Rochester, NY. His work in the marketing division allowed him to use his graphic design skills in the real world as he designed brochures, newsletters, mail-out cards, manuals, and other marketing material. Rich’s internship also gave him an opportunity to learn in a big city environment while producing work for Getinge’s clients.
Tyler Merry, Graphic Design
Tyler went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and worked for two companies that shared the same resources. One company did reef preservation, the other helped Malaysian students find summer work in the states. While there, Tyler designed web pages, as well creating fliers and advertisements.
Darrena McCulloh, Graphic Design
Darrena worked in Smithfield, North Carolina as a marketing/design director for Chick-fil-a. She completed on average one project each month, including posters and advertisements. A few of her projects included the design of flyers and posters for the "Chick-fil-a 10th Anniversary,” "Veggie-Tales Family Night,” and Valentine's Day. Another project included the creation of posters to be used by a local church, the local fire department, and Chick-fil-a for the release of the movie “Fireproof.”
Skye Dillon (Graphic Design ‘08)

Skye worked on the new designs for the upcoming NHL Winter Classic to be held at Boston’s famed Fenway Park. The winter classic is one of the highlights of the NHL season where two teams compete in an OUTDOOR venue. The ONLY outdoor venue of the season.
Through Frederick/Froberg, Skye has also designed identity marks for the NBA, WNBA, and the Yogi Berra Museum. He also completed brands for the Edenton (NC) Steamers baseball team, Meredith College and the Fort Wayne Freedom (CIFL). He is currently working on the new identities for the UEFA Cup and the Arizona Diamondbacks' AAA affiliate, the Reno Aces.
Ian received the prestigious Maxwell Thurman Award for 2005 from the Reserve Officer’s Association of the United States, Department of North Carolina. The annual honor recognizes an ROTC cadet from a North Carolina college who demonstrates the most outstanding military and leadership skills at the Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis, Washington. In the Fall of 2006, Ian completed the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Benning, Georgia. In the Spring of 2007, he graduated from Ranger School at Fort Benning. In July of 2007, Ian deployed with the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd ABCT to Afghanistan where he served as a Platoon Leader in the Korengal Valley. In September of 2008, Ian became the Battalion’s Scout Platoon Leader, and in June of 2009, he was promoted to Captain and became the Battalion S-4 in charge of Logistics.
Sasa Ljumic did graduate work at the Florence Design Academy in Florence, Italy.
Scott designed the banner to used outside of participating business during the monthly First Friday events in the city of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Billy recently received his MFA in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Derek is currently pursuing his MFA in Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Emily is currently pursuing her MFA in Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Lee graduated as a double major in Mass Communications and Graphic Design and has worked in product design for General Electric.
