Plans are in place for a NCAA-regulation 8-lane oval track, designed for men’s and women’s track and field athletes. The infield, designed with natural turf, will be used for track & field as well as a practice area for other varsity teams. Track and field is our second largest group of athletes, averaging more than 50 participants each year.
Once funds are raised, the new track will be constructed at the east end of the John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center, near the Johnson Memorial Natatorium.
The estimated cost of the track and field facility is $1.2 million.
