Disability Awareness Scholarship

• Applicant shall be at least 17 years of age and be accepted to and/or attending a full-time higher education program at an accredited institution of learning.
• Applicant must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA based on the previous year’s academic performance.

Deadline: January 10, 2015

Liljegren Law Group Military Family Scholarship

• Enrolled at an accredited high school, college, or university in the U.S.
• Undergraduate, graduate or the final year of high school
• Age seventeen (17) years or older
• Must be a Military member, veteran, or have a parent or spouse who is or was in the military
• Carry a status of “Good Standing” – i.e. currently enrolled
• Maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (or equivalent)

Veterans United Foundation Scholarship

The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship Program aims to assist military service members and their families by awarding five bi-annual $2,000 scholarships to help pay for tuition and books.

Eligibility also requires potential applicants be either currently enrolled in a post-secondary school or planning to attend a post-secondary school the following semester. This includes high school seniors. Eligible applicants must submit transcripts reflecting a minimum 2.5 grade point average on 4.0 scale and have a connection to the military by being one of the following:

Active-duty service member
Spouse of military member or veteran
Surviving spouse of a fallen soldier
Child of a military member or veteran

Applicants must also submit an essay no longer than 750 words based on one of three prompts made available in the spring and fall by Veterans United Scholarship Program. Spring essays will be accepted on April 1-30th and recipients will be announced by May 15th. Fall submissions will be accepted October 1-31st with recipients announced by November 15th.

Pat Tillman Military Scholarship

Veteran and active duty service members or their spouse (including surviving spouse) who are seeking assistance to pursue an undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate degree as a full-time student are eligible to apply. This includes on-line only programs.

USAWOA Scholarship Foundation

Applications for scholarships are accepted from the children (natural and adopted) and dependent stepchildren, under the age of 23 years (seniors in high school or above), of members in good standing in the USAWOA (must have been a member for a minimum of six months). Spouses of members in good standing are also eligible and may apply for scholarship assistance in educational endeavors.

Applications must be complete at the time of receipt.  No "partial" applications will be accepted.

Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association North Carolina Chapter

This scholarship is being offered to Ft. Bragg/Pope Field employees (civilian or military) or their dependents.

The student must have education or career plans related to communications, electronics, computers, engineering, physics, mathematics, or information systems.  Plans for management, business, or other technical degrees that relate to the previously listed fields are also acceptable.

  • An unmarried son or daughter of an active duty, retired, or deceased member of the United States Armed Forces.
  • A graduating senior at an Onslow County School or a currently enrolled full-time student at an accredited college with a parent residing in Onslow County.
  • OR A spouse of an active duty service member, retired, or deceased member of the United States Armed Forces residing in Onslow County.
