The Willard B. Harris Baseball Scholarship

Grantor:  Willard B. Harris.  This scholarship is awarded to a student(s) who are members of the Campbell University Baseball Team and /or to such incoming student(s) who are to become members of such Team.  Candidates for this scholarship should be individuals of good character who indicate an interest in obtaining a college education, who have athletic skills acceptable to the Coach of the Baseball Team, and who agree to uphold the principles of conduct expected by the Administration of Campbell University.  Donor specifically requests that this scholarship fund be available to qualified applicants irrespective of the financial need of the applicant, and that the recommendations of the Baseball Coach constitute a major factor in the selection of the applicant to who the scholarship is awarded.  All scholarships so awarded shall be awarded in accordance with the rules and regulations of the National Collegiate Athletics Association and of that NCAA Division in which Campbell University is eligible to participate, as from time to time amended, and any provision contained herein which is in contravention of such rules and regulations shall be deemed null and void ab initio, and other provisions herein shall remain in full force and effect.*

BIOLOGY and CHEMISTRY


The Stan Beard Scholarship

Grantors; The Alumni, Faculty, Students, and Patrons of the Department of Biological Sciences of Campbell University, by Dr. Timothy D. Metz, Ph.D., Chairman. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student(s) who are pursuing a major in Biology or Biochemistry or any other major offered by the Department of Biological Sciences; and/or who are otherwise eligible for medical missions internships approved by the Department of Biological Sciences and who has demonstrated a financial need; has successfully completed 30 credit hours of required and elective courses at Campbell University; must have a minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

ENGLISH


The Clara Booth Byrd Award for Creative Writing Scholarship

The scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Clara Booth Byrd.  The requirements and application are available in the English Department.   Each applicant will be requested to submit A) five poems B) three short stories/or one chapter of a longer work C) a one act play/Act I of a longer work or D) three examples of their editorial work with a creative writing magazine AND a copy of his/her transcripts and SAT scores (if available).

Grantor: Estate of Clara J. McCauley. This scholarship awarded to a Music student(s) who has an average high school and/or college academic background. A person of integrity, high moral character, in need of financial assistance and capable of satisfactory academic achievement at the college level. Recipient must refrain from using intoxicating beverages, drugs, and tobacco in their various forms. Recipient cannot be a member of a social fraternity or sorority. Preference shall be given to descendants of the donor’s brothers and sisters.

The Paul M. and Gail Miller Yoder Music Scholarship

Grantors:  Gail Yoder Neville and the Paul M. Yoder.  This scholarship is awarded to a full-time, worthy, needy student(s) pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree at Campbell University majoring in music with voice as the major instrument.   The recipient must receive a grade of “B” or better in voice each semester and maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or better.  The recipient must perform with the most advanced choral group at Campbell University.

STUDY ABROAD


The Campbell University Student Government Association Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship was set up by the Campbell University Student Government Association, Ryan Jones, SGA president elect.  This scholarship is to be awarded to a student(s) who desire to participate in the domestic and international study abroad programs, and who meet the following minimum requirements:  (1)  scholarship recipients must have minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; (2) the study abroad program must be approved by the Campbell University Study Abroad Program Director or the Study Abroad Committee; (3) the scholarship will be applicable to domestic or international study abroad programs; (4) recipients must take at least 6 semester hours while studying abroad; (5) recipients must have completed at least 24 semester hours before the semester to be studied abroad; and (6) applicants must show financial need when applying for the scholarship.*
