Program Development
For new programs, planning is generally a two-year process. The required span is often underestimated and program quality becomes compromised when less time is allowed for program development. As an example, a proposal for a summer program departing in May 2012 should ideally be researched during summer and fall of 2010 and submitted for review and approval by the Study Abroad Committee by January 1, 2011. If approved, the Faculty Director would then gather any additional program details during summer 2011 and begin marketing the program during the fall of 2011.
