- In Summer
2006, Computing Services unified user names and password
protocols for student e-mail, and web access. This coincided
with the acquisition of the Blackboard Academic Suite, the
Learning Management system used by the University for its
on-line and blended courses. The Blackboard Academic suite is
linked to the above systems, and beginning with the Summer 2007
term, we will transition to using common user name and passwords
for web access, Campbell University E-Mail, and Blackboard. That
means that one user name and password protocol will be used for
all systems. Old accounts in the Blackboard System will
gradually be phased out.
- Impact.
Students will be required to have and use their common user name
and password protocols for courses that use the Blackboard
Learning system. Once the account is loaded in the Blackboard
Learning System, the students’ user name and password defaults
to whatever is set in the Web Access system. For that reason,
students need to maintain that user name and password system,
and if it requires resetting, they must have it reset by
computing services, not the Systems Administrator for
Blackboard.
- Assistance.
Web Access information and assistance can be obtained from the
Campbell University Helpdesk. The following information is
provided:

- The Blackboard
Learning System. If you are taking a distance learning course
this term, you will be placed in an orientation course that will
provide information on the Blackboard Learning System. You
should further note the following:

Distance Education Page-Go to
www.campbell.edu Select Academics from the Pull down menu.
Select Distance Education. Review the page carefully, program
overviews, syllabus, textbook information, and a support site

should be checked periodically.
- E-mail. Your
Campbell University E-mail will become the official means of
dissemination for items associated with distance learning and
blended courses. If you choose, you can have this e-mail
forwarded to another account. Computing Services can assist you
in providing this information.
- Dropping and
