Admissions Coordinator Graduate Assistant

Description

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences' Admissions Office is seeking a Graduate Assistant. The position would offer support to the Admissions Coordinator for the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The Graduate Assistant is needed for 20-29 hours a week on average. Tasks include but are not limited to; answering phones; assisting with the planning and implementation of various interview days; organizing, collecting, and filing data; maintaining confidential data, and corresponding with prospective students through email, phone, and various databases.

CPHS Graduate Assistant

Description

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences Admissions Office is seeking a Graduate Assistant. This position will support the CPHS Admissions Staff and will be responsible for scanning admissions documents for all CPHS programs to include-Doctor of Pharmacy, Physician Assistant, Public Health, Doctor of Physical Therapy, MS in Clinical Research, and MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences. All admissions documents must be scanned into a secure network system for each program to assist in each program going paperless. This position will scan, answer phones, and various other tasks given by the staff. The weekly hours are 10-20 hours per week. This position will start August 1 or sooner.

Graduate Assistant - Student Success

Description

The Graduate Assistant plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of Student Success, coordinating tutoring programs and providing administrative support. The position is 29 hours per week, primarily worked during regular business hours. Some weekend and evening events may be required.

  • Daily management of the Peer Tutor Program, the CU Writing Center, CU Tutoring Center, and Group Review Program
  • Data management for tutoring, CU writing center, and group review sessions
  • Serve as academic coach, mentoring students, and assisting with study skills, anxiety and other transitional concerns

Counseling Services

Description

The Graduate Assistant serves as the first point of contact for Counseling Services’ office. The GA plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations, assessing students’ needs and scheduling appointments appropriately. The GA provides consultation to other University faculty/staff, students, and parents. The GA provides administrative support to Counselors, and assists Counselors with outreach activities on campus.

Graduate Assistant

Description

Two Graduate Assistant positions are available in the Department of Biological Sciences. Each graduate assistant will be supervised by one or more faculty members in the Department. Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at Campbell University.  Preference will be given to candidates with a background in biology.

Requirements | Qualifications

The Graduate Assistant (GA) will assist in advisement of incoming freshmen within Biology or Biochemistry (e.g. pre-Med, pre-PA, pre-PT, pre-DPT). This includes meeting with advisees, keying in class schedules, and acting as the Biology department liaison to various groups (e.g. parents, prospective students, Campbell Health Science school representatives, Pre-Med Allied Health Honor Society, Campbell University Athletics staff, etc.).

The GA will assist with student visitation days, summer freshman orientations, and coordinate the on-campus Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course with representative(s) from local community colleges.

The GA will assist in coordination of volunteer/service opportunities for biology students in local internships, job shadowing, and other related experiences.

The GA will also coordinate visitation opportunities for undergraduate biology students to Campbell University graduate professional programs (e.g. DO, PA, and PT) schools.

Additionally, the GA will perform other duties as assigned by the department chair/supervisor.

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills are required.

Additional Instructions

A background in science is preferred. Flexibility of working extra hours during peak times and less at other times is required.

GA for Campus Recreation-Competitive Sports

Description

The Graduate Assistant is required to assist with the management of all aspects of Intramural and Club Sports within the Department of Campus Recreation. While jobs and expected performance are delegated to other positions, the Graduate Assistant gives input to all decisions concerning Intramurals and Club Sport issues. This position will work collaboratively with the other Graduate Assistant for Competitive Sports and will report directly to the Coordinator of Intramural Sports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Administration of Intramural and Club Sport programs
  • Assist with the supervision, hiring, training, and evaluating of Intramural Supervisors and Officials
  • Assist with the advising of Club Sports, Club Sport Council, and Club Sport Council Committees and Executive Boards
  • Assist with the supervision and help administer Club Sport budgets
  • Assist with administration of Intramural budget
  • Plan, organize, supervise, schedule, lead, and evaluate Intramural, Club Sport, and departmental special events
  • Assist with the management of Club Sport documentation (budget, waivers, roster, etc…)
  • Help to develop and administer trainings for Club Sport members, officers, coaches, and advisors
  • Manage facility reservation requests for Intramurals and Club Sport programs
  • Assist with providing guidance to Club Sports in developing events, contests, fundraisers, and other activities
  • Present information about Intramurals and Club Sports during campus wide events, New Student Orientation, Admissions Visitation Days and at other promotional opportunities
  • Assist with facilitating regular student staff meetings
  • Inform and enforce Intramural and Club Sport Handbook policies and procedures to students
  • Assist in conducting employee and participant disciplinary conferences
  • Research information for future events, programs, or projects
  • Assist other programming areas in the University Recreation as needed
  • Position is a 12 month contract. Responsibilities within the university’s summer camp program may be required (additional compensation aside from the monthly stipend will be provided).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Intramural Sports and Director of Campus Recreation
  • Must maintain regular office hours and be available during those times, unless needed at events.
  • Report to the Coordinator of Intramurals and Director of Campus Recreation on appropriate topics of importance and need.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science, sports administration or related field
  • Two years of experience officiating and/or supervising intramural/club sport activities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to professionalism and quality customer service
  • Ability to work with and manage student employees is also a must
  • Computer proficiency is essential
  • Students must meet Campbell University graduate school requirements and be admitted as a degree seeking student

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with Intramural and Sport Club administrative duties
  • Strong officiating background in football, volleyball, basketball, soccer and/or softball
  • Experience in event planning and administration including extramural activities
  • Experience marketing campus recreation events

Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer

Description

The Athletic Department at Campbell University is seeking highly qualified individuals for a new graduate assistant athletic trainer position. This is a ten month position with possible renewal for a second year. Sport position assignments with Division I athletic teams will be determined based on applicant pool. Possible sports include: football, softball, and volleyball with possible shared coverage of other sports.

Requirements | Qualifications

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: providing athletic training services to assigned sports teams, serving as a clinical instructor athletic training students in CAATE-approved ATEP, and any other duties as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from CAATE-approved ATEP, BOC Certification, North Carolina state licensure or eligible.
